Jackfruits

Under its green bark, the jackfruit has a very sweet yellow flesh perfect for desserts when ripe. However, when it is still green, it can be used in savory dishes, especially as a substitute for meat. Be careful when preparing the whole fruit, as it contains sticky latex; best to use a long oiled blade to do this. Its smell might also put you off, but don't worry, you will find a great taste of pineapple, mango and banana inside.
